Correcting auto-tone mattes

The artist's original trace lines and the auto-tone matte regions are both displayed in black. If you need to display the artist's Default Trace lines in a different color, you will need to add a color model to the level. This color model should have a Painters' palette, and a second palette:

Set the Default Trace color in the Painters' palette to a bright color - say fluorescent green. Since InkPaint always uses the Painters' palette, it will display the trace lines in this color.

Set the Default Trace color in the second palette to black. Use this palette to composite the levels in Director, so the trace lines are rendered in black.

Alternatively, you can add a color model that only has a Painters' palette, set up as above. Once you have finished checking the level, you can then remove the model from the level; Director then renders the trace lines in black.
